BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — A 15-year-old boy has been seriously injured after sustaining an accidental gunshot wound at a home at 27351 Shriver Ave in Bonita Springs.
The Bonita Springs Fire District and Lee County EMS responded to the call at 7:43 PM on Friday evening.
The 15-year-old boy was shot in the left leg and was transported as a trauma alert to Gulf Coast Medical Center in south Fort Myers.
His condition remains unknown.
LCSO deputies on the scene stated that the shooting was accidental in nature but didn't disclose if it was self-inflicted.
