Multi-vehicle crash leaves one person seriously injured in southwest Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — One person had to be airlifted to the hospital after they sustained serious injuries from a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Pine Island Rd and SW 32nd Pl in Cape Coral.

Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS responded to the call at around 8:30 AM on Thursday morning.

The crash involved a commercial vehicle, and one person was trauma alerted by helicopter to Gulf Coast Medical Center in south Fort Myers.

The CCPD stated in a Facebook post on Thursday that the accident impacted the entire intersection.

The crash created heavy delays and did not allow people to get onto Pine Island or Matlacha for several hours.

Roads have since reopened.

The condition of the injured person is unknown.
