Dead body discovery prompts death investigation at condo complex in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A death investigation is underway after a deceased body was discovered inside a unit of the Del Prado Inn at 1734 Cape Coral Pkwy E on Thursday.


Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS responded to the incident at 11:38 AM.


Initial reports indicated that a female had been located inside of unit 316 unconscious, not breathing, and cold to the touch.


Paramedics pronounced her dead on the scene.


The Cape Coral Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident.


Our Cape Coral Community Correspondent Quinn Ogdon was on the scene and arrived only moments after first responders were called to the incident.


A female assumed to be living at the building could be seen speaking to officers about the incident.


The far-right eastbound lane of Cape Coral Pkwy E has been shut down to make room for emergency vehicles.


The CCPD told SWFLUC on Thursday that the death is non-suspicious.
