CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A death investigation is underway after a body was discovered at a residence located at 2011 Chiquita Blvd S in southwest Cape Coral.
The Cape Coral Fire Department and Lee County EMS responded to the call, originally deemed as an "unknown distress", at 7:16 PM on Friday.
The caller did not speak English and calltakers had to utilize a live translation service called "LanguageLine" to determine the specifics of the emergency.
The deceased person was presumed to be dead for several days and was attracting flies.

CCPD investigators have surrounded a gate at the front of the home that leads to the backyard with police tape.
It is unknown where exactly the body was located or how the person died.
One northbound lane of Chiquita Blvd S is closed.
