FORT MYERS, Fla. — A fatal crash involving a semi-truck has shut down the southbound off-ramp of I-75 to Alico Rd in Fort Myers, according to FHP.
The South Trail Fire District, San Carlos Park Fire District, and Lee County EMS responded to the crash at 3:49 AM on Friday.
The crash involved a semi-truck and a smaller vehicle that sustained heavy damages from the crash.
Multiple 911 callers were reporting that a female was trapped inside of the smaller vehicle in traumatic arrest.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
One other person was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center with unknown injuries.
The southbound exit of I-75 to Alico Rd is currently shut down.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
