CAPE CORAL, Fla. — One person is dead and another has been seriously injured in a shooting incident that took place at 1402 SW 4th Ct in southwest Cape Coral.
The Cape Coral Fire Department and Lee County EMS responded to the call at 7:57 PM on Sunday.
One person was pronounced dead on the scene.
A second person, an unknown age female, was shot in the mouth and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center as a trauma alert.
Sources told SWFLUC that the incident could potentially be a murder-suicide but weren’t able to confirm anything.
Crime scene tape can be seen lining the Cape Coral home and officers were standing outside of the door securing the scene.
A CCPD spokesperson on the scene only confirmed that there was an "active death investigation" but wouldn’t provide any more details.
The shooting is under investigation.
