CAPE CORAL, Fla. — One person has been transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being entrapped in their vehicle following a two-car crash at the intersection of SW 35th St and Chiquita Blvd S in south Cape Coral.
The Cape Coral Fire Department and Lee County EMS responded to the crash at 6:23 PM on Sunday evening.
The crash appeared to be a T-bone accident and entrapped two people in their vehicles.

Both vehicles involved, a beige Ford Explorer and a black sedan, sustained heavy damages as a result of the crash.
Both vehicles' airbags were deployed.
Firefighters had to forcefully extricate two people from the involved vehicles using specialized equipment.
One person was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center as a trauma alert.
He was reported to be approximately 30 years old.
Another person was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
The Cape Coral Police Department has deemed this a "major crash investigation" and sources tell SWFLUC that at least one person has sustained life threatening injuries.
SWFLUC crews on the scene could see homicide investigators and forensic teams taking photos of the scene and examining the involved vehicles.
All northbound lanes of Chiquita Blvd S are shut down between SW 34th St and SW 36th Terr.
