Two motorcyclists critically injured after major crash on Lee Blvd in Lehigh Acres

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. Two motorcyclists have been critically injured following a major crash at the intersection of Colin Ave N and Lee Blvd in Lehigh Acres.


The Lehigh Acres Fire District and Lee County EMS responded to the incident at 5:38 PM on Monday.


The crash involved a motorcycle fire and critically injured two motorcyclists.


One of the motorcyclists sustained full amputation to their legs, while the other sustained a partial amputation.


Both patients were transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center as trauma alerts and are in "critical condition", according to FHP.

A second vehicle sustained serious side-swipe damages but it is unknown how exactly the crash occurred.


A puddle of blood could be seen in the roadway where one of the victims initially sat.


The Florida Highway Patrol has launched an investigation into the incident.


All westbound lanes of Lee Blvd are shut down at Brian Ave N.


One eastbound lane of Lee Blvd is currently open at Colin Ave N.
